Victor Universal Testing Machine ( UTM ) Sales Expanded During Economic Downtime

What a Victor Universal Testing Machine / Tensile Machine is used for ?

Basically, Victor Universal Testing Machine is used to perform Tensile, Compression and Bending Testing for material like Metals, Plastics, Rubbers, Papers, Ceramics, Composites, Concrete, Corrugated Cardboard etc. These mechanical tests are able to determine the material ultimate strength under testing forces of pulling, compression and Bending.

Tensile test also generally known as tension test, it is one of the most fundamental testing requirement and for some material, it is a “MUST Test” criteria. Victor Tensile Machine is leading in the industry, and it has become industries’ standard. The tensile tests are simple, inexpensive and for Victor Universal Testing Machine it is an equipment to assist our users to fulfill the International testing standards like ISO, DIN, ASTM, BS, JIS, MS, API, TAPPI etc.

Oct, 2015 has been a busy month for our Product Manager Samson Chong as he assisted in the installation, commissioning and training of three Victor Universal Testing Machine at our clients place.

1st customer is a world class high quality latex examination glove manufacturer with a monthly capacity of 60.0 million piece of which 98% conforms to AQL 1.5 on ASTM and EN 455 standard.

The Victor Universal Testing Machine with 500N capacity is used to perform tensile test on latex glove.

In the past, customer was using manual method (scale ruler) to measure the percentage of elongation which was very subjective and inaccurate as their existing machine was not able to produce a smooth tensile stress-strain curve. In view of that, we proposed Victor Universal Testing Machine with modified and improved extensometer. Finally, after countless rounds of effort in modification, we have successfully helped to automate the measurement of elongation % by using our UTM extensometer and customer is really satisfied with the results.

2nd customer is an automotive part manufacturer, a wholly-owned subsidiary of a public listed company in Malaysia that commenced in early 1980’

The Victor Universal Testing Machine of 10kN and 500N capacity, is applied to perform various tensile strength and compression tests on automotive components

Earlier, customer was using push pull gauge to test the bonding strength of one of the product, PVC sun visor, and the results was recorded manually with occasional human errors. We improved the situation by upgrading the testing process with a Victor Tensile machine. Now, the test results has become reliable and they can also print out the results to present it to their customer.

We also has helped the customer to save a lot of money by custom made the Victor tensile machine to operate with 2 load cells that can cover a very low testing force 500N and a standard 10,000N testing force range, which traditionally can only be achieved by using two UTM machines. By so doing, the customer has saved the expenditure on a second machine and is truly happy and satisfied with our suggestion.

3rd customer is an iron pipe manufacturer with diameter of the pipe up to 3000mm

Person in charged: Mr Mizan (QC Manager)

This time, the Victor Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine of capacity 1000kN / 100ton is used to perform tensile test on steel plate up to 30mm thick in order to find out its tensile strength. As pipe’s wall need to be very strong and tough, so, Victor Hydraulic Universal Testing Machine tests the raw steel plate for their yield strength (Y.S.) tensile strength (U.T.S.), elongation (EL%) and reduction of area (R.O.A.%).

You can learn a lot more about a substance’s mechanical properties from our comprehensive Victor tensile testing software.
