VIT 175 – Standard Tumble Dryer for Textile Drying Process Testing

[product_tags_no_comma_alt]

Application

The Standard Tumble Dryer is designed to test the drying process and procedures required for textiles, as prescribed in standard textile testing for household cleaning and drying. This dryer ensures compliance with various textile drying standards.

Features

  • Type: Front-loading, horizontal drum design for efficient drying.
  • Drum Diameter: 58cm ±1cm.
  • Drum Volume: 100L for ample space to accommodate fabric samples.
  • Revolution Speed: 50 r/min for consistent drying results.
  • Drying Capacity: Rated to handle up to 5 kg of fabric.
  • Lift Sheets: 3 pieces with a 120° spacing between each, ensuring even drying.
  • Controlled Air Outlet Temperature: Less than 80°C for safe and effective drying.
  • Power: 220 / 110 V 50/60 Hz, 3 kW

Testing Method

Application Scope
The Standard Tumble Dryer complies with the updated GB/T 8629-2017 standard, which replaced the previous GB/T 8629-2001. This new standard introduces additional washing programs and modifies drying conditions to ensure more accurate and reliable textile testing. Compared to the previous standard, the air outlet temperature during drying is now 10°C higher to improve the drying process.

Test Procedure

  1. Preheat: Weigh the dryer and record the data, then connect to the main power and preheat for 5 minutes.
  2. Weighing: Weigh the washed and dehydrated fabric sample and record the data.
  3. Loading: Estimate the drying time and load the sample into the drum. Close the door securely.
  4. Drying: Adjust the drying time, press the drying button, and allow the dryer to stop heating automatically in the last 20 minutes for cooling.
  5. Measurement: Once drying is complete, measure the mass of the fabric until the moisture content meets the standard requirements.
  6. Post-Test: Turn off the power, open the door, and remove the fabric sample.

Instructions

  1. Power Socket: Ensure an independent power socket is used, and the grounding cable is properly connected to earth for safety.
  2. Sample Preparation: Ensure the fabric is dehydrated with no water droplets before placing it into the tumble dryer to avoid damage to the machine.
  3. Safety: Never open the door during the test, as hot air could cause burns.
  4. Cleaning: After each test, clean the observing window and filter screen with a wet cloth to maintain optimal performance.
