Application

The Precision Perspiration Tester evaluates the color fastness of textiles when exposed to water, seawater, and perspiration, as well as sublimation during storage. This device features a stainless steel frame with 21 acrylic separator plates, capable of holding 20 textile samples, allowing both ISO and AATCC test methods to be conducted simultaneously. Twenty plastic basins are included for the pre-treatment of samples. A precise oven is required for this testing process.

What is Color Fastness to Perspiration?

Color fastness refers to a textile’s ability to maintain its color when subjected to various conditions during processing and use. The grade of color fastness is assessed based on the degree of discoloration of the sample and staining on adjacent fabrics. Among the different types, color fastness to perspiration, light fastness, and rub fastness are closely linked to everyday textile performance.

Perspiration Fastness Test Method

The perspiration fastness test measures how well textiles retain their color when exposed to sweat. In this test, the sample is sewn together with a standard lining fabric and immersed in a perspiration solution. The paired fabrics are then clamped in the perspirometer and placed in a controlled-temperature oven. After drying, the color change and staining are evaluated using a standard gray scale to determine the test results.
