Introduction to ISO 178

ISO 178 is an international standard for testing the flexural properties of plastics. This test evaluates the flexural stress, strain, and modulus of both rigid and semi-rigid plastic materials using a three-point bending fixture.

Test Procedure for ISO 178

  2. Adjust Support Span: Support span length is adjusted based on sample size.
  3. Perform the Test: Specimens are bent at specified rates while force and deflection are recorded.
