Application

The Fully Automatic Shrinkage Tester is designed to evaluate the dimensional stability of textiles, including fabrics and garments, after laundering. With a rated loading capacity of 5+/-0.05kg and user-friendly touch screen control, this machine provides precise and repeatable results for shrinkage testing, aligning with methods similar to the Wascator.

Testing Method

Testing Procedure

  1. Prepare Test Piece: Select a smooth test sample (minimum 500mm x 500mm), mark three pairs of tags along warp and weft, ensuring a 350mm distance between tags.
  2. Load Washer: Add detergent (ECE non-phosphate or ICE non-phosphate detergent) to the shrinkage washer and place the test piece and dummy inside.
  3. Select Settings: Adjust temperature, water level, and time based on test requirements.
  4. Drying: After washing, choose from various drying methods such as hanging, drip drying, laying flat, pressing, or oven drying, ensuring the test piece dries without distortion.

Shrinkage rate (DC) = [(B – A) / A] * 100%
Where:

  • A = Size before washing
  • B = Size after washing
