Victor Manufacturing offers customizable Universal Testing Machines (UTMs), proudly manufactured in Malaysia, to meet industry-specific tensile and compression testing needs.
What is a Universal Testing Machine?
A Universal Testing Machine (UTM), also known as a Materials Testing Machine, evaluates tensile strength, compressive strength, and mechanical properties. The term “universal” signifies its ability to conduct multiple types of tests across different materials.
How to Perform a Tensile or Compression Test Using a UTM
Step 1: Sample Preparation
Prepare the test specimen according to standards such as ASTM, ISO, JIS, BS, or DIN.
Step 2: Specimen Placement
Secure the specimen in the machine’s grips and attach an extensometer if required for precise measurements.
Step 3: Load Application & Data Collection
Start the test, and the UTM will gradually apply force while the system records:
✔ Load vs. Extension/Compression
✔ Stress-Strain Curve
✔ Material Yield Behavior
UTM Capacities & Testing Parameters
Our Universal Testing Machines range from compact tabletop systems (50N capacity) to industrial-grade models exceeding 2000kN.
Key Testing Parameters Include:
✔ Tensile Strength & Stress
✔ Fixed Stress & Strength
✔ Pull-Out Strength
✔ Elongation Rate at Break
✔ Tear Strength
✔ Force of Adhesion & Peak Load
